Prescription Information

Federal law requires we have a valid prescription on file before shipping your mask, machine and/or humidifier.

There are 3 ways to fulfill this requirement.

  1. You can submit an existing, valid sleep therapy device prescription
  2. One of our sleep therapy experts can contact your physician for you.
  3. You can download a MyNewCPAP.com prescription for your physician to fill out

Submitting your prescription is easy. You can

  • scan and email it to prescriptions@mynewcpap.com, or
  • fax it to (361) 214-1022, or
  • If you would like one of our experts to contact your physician for you, please call us at 833-3My-CPAP or send a request via email to customerservice@mynewcpap.com. Please include the patient’s name, date of birth and physician contact information.

If you are submitting an existing prescription, it must contain the following:

  • Patient Name
  • Patient Date of Birth
  • Duration of need -Example: “99 Months” or “Lifetime Need”
  • Type of sleep therapy device with pressure settings
  • Type of sleep therapy mask
  • Printed Physician Name
  • Physician NPI Number
  • Physician signature
  • Date of physician signature

As long as the prescription has these prerequisites, you can purchase sleep therapy equipment. 

Even though you are making the purchase of an item without insurance, we will need a prescription to fulfill the order based on Federal regulations. It is possible that you have previously purchased equipment without an Rx from other companies, but going forward all machines, masks,  humidifiers, and supplies must be purchased with a prescription. 

Bonus:  most states do not require sales tax for medical items if you have a prescription.  If your doctor includes “Duration: 99” or “Duration: Lifetime,” we will never ask for a renewal prescription for any future supplies or replacement equipment ordered on the original prescription.
